How the Upgrader and the Market work

Got a pile of skins you never equip? You can turn them into one you actually want with the Upgrader, or sell them to the Market for MP right away and buy something else. Here’s how both work, and how to get the most out of them.

The Market: sell anything, buy anything

The Market buys every skin and sticker in your inventory. There’s no waiting for a buyer and no haggling: pick an item, see what it pays, confirm, and the MP lands in your wallet straight away. The exact payout is shown before you sell, and you can sell your whole inventory in one go with Sell all.

Whatever gets sold goes on the Market for everyone else to buy. So the Market is always stocked with skins other players have cashed in, from cheap stickers to knives and gloves. Anything you buy shows up in your inventory immediately, and skins work in game: equip them on the Loadout page and they’re on your guns the next time you join one of our servers.

The Upgrader: go for the skin you actually want

The Upgrader trades what you put in for a shot at something worth more. Put in up to 10 skins or stickers, add MP on top if you like, pick a target, and spin. Land in your win zone and the target is yours. Miss and what you put in is gone. That’s the deal, and you see your exact odds before you commit.

1. Choose what you put in

Tap skins and stickers in your inventory list on the left to add them, up to 10 at once. Use the Add MP slider to top up with wallet MP, or upgrade with MP alone. Everything you add counts toward your total.

2. Pick any skin as your target

The target list on the right has every skin in every wear: Factory New through Battle-Scarred, plus StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions wherever they exist, each at its own price. You get exactly the version you pick, so if you go for a StatTrak™ Factory New, that’s what lands in your inventory.

The search is built for finding things fast. Type words in any order and skip the punctuation:

Not sure what to aim for? The quick buttons do the math for you. ×2, ×4 and ×8 show targets worth about that many times what you’re putting in. 35%, 55% and 75% show targets that give you about that chance to win. Every target card shows your exact chance for it, and the list keeps loading as you scroll.

3. Check your odds and place your win zone

Your chance is simple: what you put in, divided by what the target is worth, minus a small 5% platform cut. Put in 10,000 MP worth for a 20,000 MP skin and you’re at 47.5%. Chances run from 1% up to 75%. The wheel shows your chance as a green arc, and you can slide that win zone anywhere on the wheel. Moving it doesn’t change your odds, it just puts the zone where you want it.

4. Spin

Hit Upgrade and the needle spins. If it stops inside the green arc, you win the target and it goes straight to your inventory. If it doesn’t, the items and MP you put in are used up.

Every roll is fixed before you spin, and you can check it. Your result comes from a secret seed that’s committed before you roll. After the spin your receipt reveals that seed, the roll and your win zone, so you can see the outcome was decided up front and not adjusted after you clicked.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What can I put into the Upgrader?
Up to 10 skins and stickers from your inventory, plus MP from your wallet, or MP on its own. Locked items, items listed on the Market, items in storage, admin gifts and Steam-synced items can’t be used.
How is my chance worked out?
What you put in divided by the target’s value, minus a 5% platform cut, capped between 1% and 75%. The exact chance is shown on the wheel and on every target card before you spin.
Does moving the win zone change my odds?
No. The zone is always the same size as your chance. Where you put it is up to you, and the roll is fixed before you spin either way.
Can I win StatTrak™ and Souvenir skins?
Yes. Every wear, StatTrak™ and Souvenir version is its own target at its own price, and you receive exactly the version you picked.
Do skins from the Market and the Upgrader work in game?
Yes. Equip them on the Loadout page and they show up on your weapons on our servers, with their wear, StatTrak™ counter and stickers.
Can I cash out MP or skins?
No. MP and skins on CSGO Matchmaking have no cash value and can’t be withdrawn or traded off the site. See the terms.
